No — you do not need a Yoga Alliance or Yoga Australia qualification to take our course or, in most cases, to teach kids yoga professionally.
What you do need #
The most important things are that you have been properly trained, can teach children safely and can obtain the professional liability insurance and safeguarding or background checks required in your location. Schools, venues and insurers may each have their own requirements, so it is always worth checking if you are applying for a particular role.
How Cosmic Kids certification works #
Our training is online, but it includes quizzes, recommended practice and a practical teaching assessment. For full certification, you submit a video of yourself teaching the class provided. Jaime reviews it carefully and gives you one-to-one feedback. You receive your certificate once you meet the required standard.
How this differs from Yoga Alliance or Yoga Australia #
Yoga Alliance, Yoga Australia and similar organisations offer their own professional registrations. These are separate from Cosmic Kids certification and are not universal licences to teach yoga. We use relevant industry guidance when developing our training, while keeping the course accessible, practical and focused specifically on teaching children.
Already registered with Yoga Alliance? #
If you are already an eligible registered yoga teacher, the hours you spend completing and practising our training can count towards Continuing Education once you have completed full Cosmic Kids certification.
